I am a doctoral researcher studying bird communities in wetlands in Finland and India. My research will pinpoint the factors which drive the bird diversity and reproductive success of wetland birds in constructed and remnant wetland habitats across these regions. With wetlands being lost worldwide at unprecedented rates, and waterfowl populations declining globally, the results from this research will provide decisive information for constructing, restoring, and managing wetlands as successful breeding and wintering grounds for Eurasian waterbird species.

My primary interests lie in improving habitats for biodiversity, particularly birds, in human-modified landscapes. My research interest includes community ecology, conservation biology, and bioacoustics.
