Toni Laaksonen (PI)

I am a professor of animal ecology at the Department of Biology, University of Turku. My research interests range from animal behaviour and population ecology to multitrophic ecological interactions, conservation and management. My current main study systems are the hole-breeding animal community of boreal forests, waterfowl and birds of prey. 

I am an invited member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters and a member of the Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Biosciences, Health and Environment (2022-2024). I have the pleasure to serve also in the boards of WWF Finland, Osprey foundation and Nature2100-fund of University of Turku
