Antti Piironen

I am a doctoral student in Animal Ecology Group at the University of Turku. My research focuses on understanding bird migration and it’s implication to population dynamics, conservation and management. In my PhD, I use satellite tracking to study migratory behavior of taiga bean goose and greylag goose. In addition to that, I am currently contributing to a few other research projects (mainly tracking projects) regarding bean geese, wigeon and barnacle geese. The applicability and relevancy of my results in decision-making in conservation and management are a priority to me.
